Character And Recruitment
Many campuses and chapters are preparing to welcome new students to campus and highlight the many opportunities sororities offer potential new members as they begin their collegiate careers. Recruitment is an exciting, yet anxious time for our sisters and potential new members alike. Being genuine and authentic, and displaying your true character are always traits that will serve recruitment participants well.
AOIIs should seek members who exemplify the highest ideals of Scholarship, Character, Dignity and Loyalty, and we also seek to develop those ideals in each sister throughout her lifetime. The AOII NPC delegation wishes each chapter the best in this process and are excited to celebrate the newest members of our chapters!
CHARACTER BUILDERS
The circumstances amid which we live determine our reputation; the truth we believe determines our character.
Reputation is what you are supposed to be; character is what you are.
Reputation is the photograph; character is the face.
Reputation comes over one from without; character grows from within.
Reputation is what you have when you come to a new community; character is what you have when you go away.
Your reputation is learned in an hour; your character does not come to light for a year.
Reputation is made in a moment; character is built in a lifetime.
Reputation grows like a mushroom; character grows like an oak.
Reputation goes like a mushroom; character lasts like an eternity.
A single newspaper report gives you your reputation; a life of toil gives you your character.
Reputation makes you rich or makes you poor; character makes you happy or makes you miserable.
Reputation is what men say about you on your tombstone; character is what angels say about you before the throne of God.
