Volunteer Summit 2022
This summit experience will be focused on equipping select volunteer roles with tools and connections to strengthen you in your role. Attending roles will rotate biennially to allow for focused training and relationship building. For the inaugural Volunteer Summit, Chapter Advisors, Network Directors, NS-Operations & Programming, NS-New Chapter Development, International Standing Committee Chairs, and selected international volunteer facilitators are invited to attend.
Who is invited to attend Volunteer Summit?
Volunteer Summit 2022 will be attended by Network Directors, Network Specialists of Operations & Programming, Network Specialists of New Chapter Development, Chapter Advisors, and International Standing Committee Chairs. Select International Volunteers may be asked to attend to assist in facilitating content during the weekend.
What can I expect at Volunteer Summit?
- Learning opportunities for CAs created based on your feedback after Leadership Academy and in the CA needs assessment
- Opportunities to meet one-on-one and face-to-face with network volunteers and/or staff who work with your chapter
- Networking time with your fellow Chapter Advisors, network volunteers, and international standing committee members
- A first look at an exciting announcement from the Fraternity & Foundation
- Time to interact with attendees of the AOII Foundation’s Sisterhood Retreat, such as members of the Tri-Boards and Past International Presidents
When and where will Volunteer Summit be held?
June 17–19, 2022, at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs, 700 Cool Springs Blvd, Franklin, TN 37067.
What is the timeline for registration?
- Registration opens Friday, April 1 at 12:00 pm CDT
- Registration closes Thursday, April 14 at 12:00 pm CDT
Can I select an alternate to attend Volunteer Summit for me?
Chapter Advisors may select an alternate to attend in their place if they are unable to attend. Please select your alternate on AlphaLink within the registration period, to allow your alternate to register before the close date of April 14.
Who pays for Volunteer Summit expenses?
For International Volunteers
- Double Room (two people/room) and Board: Paid by the Fraternity
- Travel to/ from Nashville, TN: Paid by the Fraternity.
- Travel guidelines must be adhered to in order to receive reimbursement for travel arrangements
- Registration Fee: Personal expense
- Ground transportation to/ from the airport, baggage handling, tips, and other fees: Personal expense
For Chapter Advisors or Alternates

How do I make changes to my registration?
Registrations (including room and board) can be transferred from the CA to another advisor until May 23. No cancellations or refunds will be given for Volunteer Summit.

When should I book my travel to Volunteer Summit?
Chapter Advisors may work with their Director of Finance to book their travel at any time as this is a chapter expense.
International Volunteers will receive further information regarding booking travel via email.
When should I arrive for Volunteer Summit?
Programming will begin on Friday, June 17 at 3:00 pm CDT. Please arrive at the hotel prior to 3:00 pm CDT to ensure that you are ready for the kickoff of Volunteer Summit!
When should I plan to depart from Volunteer Summit?
There will be no scheduled programming on Sunday, June 19. You may choose to depart at any time on Sunday.
What time is check-in?
Check-in time at Franklin Marriott Cool Springs is 4:00 pm CDT (if your room is ready, you may check-in earlier). A credit card for incidental room charges will be required for all participants at the time of check-in. The hotel accepts most major credit cards.
In addition to checking into the hotel, you need to check-in for the event at the AOII registration desk. All chapter accounts and any personal accounts with AOII must be cleared with AOII Headquarters accounting staff before registration can be completed.
What time is check-out?
Check-out is at 12:00 pm CDT. You must check out with the hotel and settle all accounts before leaving.
How do I note special dietary needs?
For those participants wanting to request vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or dairy/lactose-free meals or have a food allergy, please make note of this request in the space provided on the registration form. Special meals must be requested in advance and not on-site.
How do I obtain ground transportation to and from the hotel?
Attendees must make arrangements for their own airport transportation. Ground transportation to and from the hotel is a personal expense.
Is parking available at the hotel?
Yes. The Franklin Marriott Cool Springs has complimentary on-site parking.
Can I shop the Emporium at Volunteer Summit?
The Emporium will be open throughout Volunteer Summit for your shopping convenience. Shopping hours will be listed in your on-site registration packet.
What should I wear to Volunteer Summit?
The attire for Volunteer Summit is business casual.
What COVID-19 precautions are being taken for this event?
As part of our event policies, we are requiring all attendees to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test (PCR or rapid antigen). If opting to upload test results, the negative test needs to be within 48 hours of the start of the event, 3:00 pm CDT on Wednesday, June 15. Registrants who do not complete this process prior to the start of the event will not be allowed to participate in sessions or meals.
AOII has partnered with 42Chat to collect, verify and secure this information. Registered attendees will receive a text message in June asking you to complete the verification from your mobile device.
Additional COVID-19 precautions may be implemented closer to the event and will be communicated to attendees in June, as needed.
