As AOIIs, we don’t just inspire ambition—we empower it. Thanks to the generous donations of our community, we provide scholarships that support academic excellence and advanced degrees, as well as grants that offer fresh starts for returning scholars. By contributing to an endowed fund, you help reduce the financial barriers of higher education. Your support lessens the financial burden on our sisters, enabling them to pursue their ambitious academic dreams. Together, we are creating opportunities and fostering success for women in higher education.

Academic Scholarships
Each year the Alpha Omicron Pi Foundation awards merit-based academic scholarships to deserving AOII women pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. Thanks to contributions from Alpha Omicron Pi collegiate and alumnae chapters, members, and friends, the Foundation awarded $225,000 for the 2024-2025 academic year!
All applicants are considered for a prestigious Diamond Jubilee Scholarship, awarded to sisters who exhibit academic excellence and dedication to serving the community and AOII. Additionally, Named Scholarships are available for a particular chapter, field of study, state of residence, or college.
Applications are now open for 2025 – 2026 and will close on February 1, 2025! If you have any questions, please refer to our FAQs below or email us at scholarships@alphaomicronpi.org.
Leadership Scholarships
The Foundation offers multiple leadership development scholarships to give members additional opportunities to strengthen their leadership and life skills. I’ve received a scholarship from the Alpha Omicron Pi Foundation before. Can I apply again this year?
Each initiated member in good standing of Alpha Omicron Pi may be awarded a scholarship once as a collegiate member and once as an alumna member during her lifetime. If you are an undergraduate and have previously received a scholarship, you are not eligible for another scholarship until you have reached graduate student status.
How can the scholarship funds be used?
The funds may only be used for academic/educational expenses such as tuition, books, lab supplies, and fees required for academic purposes. Expenses put on your student account such as parking violations, athletic game tickets, etc. will not be paid for by these scholarship funds. Funds may not be used for any local or international Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity dues/fees, including AOII Housing. Funds may not be used for outstanding student loan debt of any kind.
I qualify for multiple Named Scholarships. Do I have to submit a separate application for each award?
No, upon submitting a scholarship application, you are automatically a candidate for any scholarships for which you qualify, including the Diamond Jubilee Scholarships. We encourage all interested candidates to submit a scholarship application and allow Alpha Omicron Pi Foundation to consider you for any awards for which you are eligible.
Is there a minimum GPA requirement to apply for a scholarship from the Alpha Omicron Pi Foundation?
No; however, the selection is based on scholastic excellence, employment experience, past and current Alpha Omicron Pi activities and leadership, and campus and community involvement. Please note your GPA must be on a 4.0 scale, it can be converted. Convert your GPA here.

Does my transcript need to be an official copy for the application process?
Our preference is an official transcript; an unofficial transcript can be uploaded during the application process. All transcripts must be uploaded to your application.
Are recommendations required?
Yes, you are required to obtain two (2) recommendations. Your recommender should know you personally and will be able to speak to your leadership, volunteer, and/or professional activities. We suggest asking but do not require, an AOII Chapter Advisor or AOII alumna, current or former professor, college/university official, a current or former employer, or someone of the like. Recommendations from other collegians, family members, and/or friends will not be accepted (even if they are alumnae).
I’ve selected my recommender. What’s next?
Inform recommenders that they will receive an email from SmarterSelect. This email will contain a link to follow to give your recommendation online. Once complete, the recommendation will automatically upload to your application account. Remind your recommenders to check their SPAM folder if they do not receive the initial email. As the applicant, it is your responsibility to ensure the recommendations are completed by the deadline (February 1, 2025, 11:59 pm Central Time). If your recommendations are not submitted by the deadline, your application is not considered complete. Recommendations from other collegians, family members, and/or friends will not be accepted (even if they are alumnae).
