Alpha Omicron Pi Honors the Life of Kristen McCartney
Alpha Omicron Pi is devastated to share the loss of Kristen McCartney, 19, a collegiate member of AOII’s Gamma Phi Chapter at Seton Hall University. Kristen joined Alpha Omicron Pi in March 2021 and her sisters described her as, “the most hilarious and free-spirited person. She had a contagious energy that made everyone around her smile and laugh.”
The Gamma Phi Chapter, in partnership with Seton Hall University, Campus Ministry is holding a vigil tonight, Wednesday, September 22 at 9:00p.m. at the Seton Hall Chapel for the community to support one another and honor Kristen’s life.
The sisters of AOII share our deepest condolences to Kristen’s family, friends and to the Gamma Phi Chapter. It is our hope that members will find the support they need through the ties of sisterhood and comfort from friends and family. We are thankful for the Seton Hall University community and all those who are offering support to our members, while keeping Kristen’s loved ones in their thoughts during this difficult time.
The Fraternity will provide information at a later date about a formal draping of the badge in coordination with the Gamma Phi Chapter to celebrate Kristen’s life. AOII encourages the collegiate and alumnae chapters to hold the Memorial Ritual for Chapters and Members, a ceremony intended for initiated members of Alpha Omicron Pi to honor a deceased member.
