AOII On-site Leadership Institute Experience Is Now Virtual
COVID-19 has impacted our world, our Fraternity and our members in unprecedented ways. We have been evaluating all aspects of our operations including our summer Leadership Institute event planned for June 19-20 in Franklin, Tennessee. Keeping the health, safety and well-being of our members, volunteers, delegates, staff and guests as our top priority, the AOII Executive Board has voted unanimously to cancel our 2020 on-site Leadership Institute experience this year.
In place of the on-site event, we are excited to announce a Virtual Leadership Institute will be held enabling even more members to participate in the sisterhood, education, and celebrations that are highlights of every LI. June 19-20 will still be the dates for the virtual event. Please hold the these dates and know that more information will follow regarding online activities, sessions, workshops, and fun! In addition, Network Trainings and/or Board Meetings that usually take place during that week may now take place on other weekend(s), but we are asking Network Volunteers and Board Members to also hold June 17-18 in your calendar until alternate plans are announced. Details on those trainings and/or meetings are currently being developed.
As a reminder, this event is attended by International Volunteers, Alumnae Chapter Presidents, Collegiate Chapter Advisers, Collegiate Chapter Presidents, and collegiate chapter members at large. Chapter Presidents and Chapter Advisers should plan to attend LI or send an alternate if they are not able to participate. We will also be offering a track for emerging chapter leaders. Emerging leaders should be a first- or second-year student who have not yet taken on major leadership roles, but who have shown interest and potential for future leadership.

Jaclyn Johnson created her career. A power house entrepreneur, by the time she was 28, Johnson had sold her first business, (No Subject), invested in one of the country’s top female owned startups, Away, and launched her second multi million-dollar company, Create & Cultivate.
Johnson recognized a gap in conversations, resources, events and community for female millennial entrepreneurs and responded with a solution, Create & Cultivate, the beloved media platform and nationwide conference. In the process, Jaclyn’s own work-life philosophy, built on the cornerstones of female empowerment, hustling-hard and innovation have propelled her voice to the forefront of the discussion on workplace equality, a new thought-leader for millennial women and Gen Zers on the career come up. Known for her powerful messaging and often imitated never duplicated style of digital and experiential marketing, Johnson is reshaping attitudes on female entrepreneurialism, work culture and the gig economy for women all over the world.

Interested in honoring an AOII sister? AOII’s Forever Friend program is a wonderful way to say “thank you” to a sister for all she contributes to AOII. It is a program designed specifically to recognize the women who make AOII stronger through dedication and love. Each sister you honor through Forever Friends will receive a personalized certificate recognizing the sister(s) who gave in her honor, as well as a token of thanks for her dedication and service to the Fraternity.
The deadline to submit Forever Friends purchases is June 20 at 12:00 pm CT.
