Carole Jones Inducted As NPC Chairman
Denver, CO (Oct. 28, 2017) — Alpha Omicron Pi International Fraternity recently celebrated AOII’s National Panehellenic Conference Delegate Carole Jone’s, University of Alabama (Alpha Delta Chapter), induction as Chairman of the National Panhellenic Conference at their 2017 Annual Meeting in Denver on October 28. As the Chairman of NPC, Jones will work with representatives from 26 member organizations, the NPC Executive Committee, NPC Board of Directors and NPC Staff. More than 150 AOIIs attended to witness this historical event including collegiate and alumnae members from across North America, all AOII Past International Presidents, AOII Executive Board members, AOII Properties Board members, AOII Foundation Board members and other honored guests.
This two-year leadership role occurs only once every 52 years for each NPC Organization and carries the honor of leading one of the largest women’s organizations of nearly five million members. Every year, the NPC Delegates, International Presidents, Executive Directors and other representatives from each of the 26 organizations come together to discuss NPC business, hold training and education sessions, and network with fellow Panhellenic sisters. AOII moves into this role following Sigma Kappa’s NPC Delegate and Past NPC Chairman Donna King. Zeta Tau Alpha’s NPC Delegate Malaea Nelms Seleski stepped into the role as Vice Chairman and will follow AOII as NPC Chairman in 2019.
The National Panhellenic Conference is made up of 26 women organizations who work together to provide support and advance the sorority experience. NPC’s mission is as follows, “The National Panhellenic Conference is the premier advocacy and support organization for the advancement of the sorority experience.”
Alpha Omicron Pi was founded in 1897 at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City.
